My name is Vicki McLachlan, principal photographer at Olive View Photo Co. I serve Wayne, Washtenaw, and Oakland counties, focusing primarily in Canton, Ypsilanti, Ann Arbor, Novi, and Commerce Township, Michigan.
I was introduced to photography as an artform in high school where I learned the basics by making a pinhole camera out of an oatmeal canister and a scrap of photo paper. I found the entire darkroom process enchanting and spent years honing my technique with black and white film, studying light and shadow. At the same time, I was taught how to manipulate photos in Photoshop and refine my images in ways not possible in the darkroom.
These days, I enjoy the freedom and versatility afforded to me by digital photography. My digital darkroom is where the magic happens now, taking a standard photograph and turning it into your exceptional work of art. I look forward to working with you and capturing your beautiful memories!
